This s abstract painting was inspired by the kind of deep space imagery made possible by the Hubble Telescope. The colors in the images that come back from the Hubble are amazing and I am often inspired to use those images as a point of departure for my next abstract.  I applied texture through build up of papers and acrylic mediums, using a palette knife, stencils and found objects pressed into the mediums. Collage materials added after the color field painting was finished include cut and torn papers, cardboard, glass beads, foil, metal, Styrofoam etc.

• Layers of thinly laid acrylic paint over acrylic mediums and collaged papers 
• Descriptive textural elements: cut papers, acrylic mediums, screening, mat board, wire, fabric, beads, plastic,foil
• Oil pastel highlights are added at the end of the process and the  painting is finished with a clear acrylic varnish for surface protection
• The painting extends around all sides of the gallery wrapped canvas​
