This abstract painting was inspired by the color blue. I usually have an idea of where I am going with it and I will often make a small compositional sketch. I begin painting a canvas to establish the general color field.As that dries I apply texture through build up of papers and acrylic mediums, using a palette knife. After I determing that the major part of paint application is finished I add collage materials including cut and torn papers, cardboard, glass beads, foil, metal, Styrofoam, screening, etc.

- Oil pastel highlights are added at the end of the process and the painting is finished with a clear acrylic varnish for surface protection
