I often drive through the farmlands of the midwest to visit my family. It's the same route each time and it never ceases to amaze me how the color of the atmosphere and the land changes along with the seasons.  ​I was thinking about July and August here; the fruits and vegetables in the fields ripe and at peak sweetness, the air warm and moist and the land welcoming.
